- The intent of this project is to renovate the lobby in the Federal Building on 600 Church Street, Flint, MI 48502. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following work: room finishes, new bullet resistant gypsum board, metal stud wall partitions, bullet resistant glass, and new suspended ceiling systems, along with doors, doorframes and door hardware. Mechanical system improvements shall include rework of existing supply and return air distribution systems. Electrical system improvements shall include rework of existing power distribution systems and new lighting systems. Optional work includes: (1) additional bullet-proof glass and (2) additional architectural woodworking. The duration of this project is 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The estimated price of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This procurement is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program and open to all business concerns. NAICS is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. Proposals will be evaluated on past performance and price. A pre-proposal conference is tentatively scheduled for the week of May 11 with actual information contained in the solicitation. The solicitation will be available on or about May 2, 2009 and the date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the solicitation. Offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation from the FedBizOps (www.fbo.gov) and for monitoring the same system for amendments and/or additional information. Small business concerns, including HubZone, veteran owned, service disabled veteran owned, disadvantaged and women owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
