- Description
- The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a sole source contract to HenryPratt Company for 30 industrial water ball valves for the A-B Test Complex at StennisSpace Center, MS. The work to be performed under this requirement shall consist of themanufacturing and delivery of commercial off the shelf metal seated ball valves for dropin replacement of existing ball valves in the industrial water delivery systems. Theseball valves have the following characteristics: Resilient metal to metal seated withflanged ends drilled to applicable ANSI B16.1 standard class 250; Double seated allowingsealing in both directions; Pressure rating of 300 psig; In field replaceable seats;Pneumatic operators; Self-flushing cast ductile iron body; Exact size replacement ofexisting, older valves thereby requiring no modification of mating pipe system. Theperiod of performance is five years from contract award. Henry Pratt is the only knownvendor that can provide these specific valves.This is a sole source commercialacquisition under the authority of FAR part 6.302-1 and FAR part 12. The Governmentbelieves Only One responsible Source and No Other Supply or Service Will Satisfy theAgencies Requirements.This notice of intent is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) forcompetitive proposals.All responsible sources may submit a Statement of Capabilities(SOC) which shall be considered by the agency.Interested organizations may submit theirSOC to perform the effort, in writing, to the identified point of contact not later than3:00 p.m. (local time) on May 4, 2009.Submissions will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 332911 and 500employees respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. FOB isdestination.
