- Description
- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought notice only. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, woman-owned, small business, or large business) relative to NACIS 325413 (size standard of 500 Employees). Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and are not considered adequate responses to a potential future solicitation announcement. The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking sources that can provide an In-vitro Diagnostic System that utilizes current DNA testing technology to detect nucleic acid targets by hybridization. The systems will provide testing for: 1) Factor V Leiden mutation and Factor II mutation - These mutations are both associated with increased tendency to form blood clots. 2) Coumadin/Warfarin Metabolism - There are genetic variations that cause people to metabolize warfarin differently. Testing for these variations allows the clinician to identify patients at risk for increased warfarin sensitivity and avoid warfarin-associated hemorrhage. 3) Hereditary Hemochromatosis - There are at least three genetic mutations that can cause hereditary hemochromatosis which leads to improper iron storage and damage in various organs of the body. The system must be complete and include all necessary components to be able to provide random access on at least 8 samples simultaneously and provide a readable/printable result to the technician at the end of the test process. Responses to this request should include a capability statement, and three (3) customer references to which you have provided similar services for. Responses should also include company name, address, point of contact and answers to the following questions: (1) Is this product or service available under a federal supply schedule (GSA)? If yes, please provide the contract number. (2) Do you manufacture or directly provide these services? 3) Is your business large or small? If your business is small please indicate if your business is also certified in a subcategory for small business i.e. service disabled, veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, or woman-owned. Responses to this notice shall be emailed to Thomas Yerkey at Thomas.yerkey@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 4:30PM on April 28th, 2009. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available, if a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date.
