Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Information received will be used to determine the availability of technically capable and otherwise responsible firms that would be interested in submitting offers for this anticipated solicitation. The General Services Administration, Region 8, Colorado Service Center is conducting a market survey and is seeking sources for Design-Build Services. The requirement is to 1)modernize a 78-year old historic asset, 2)improve the energy efficiency, 3) upgrade the mechanical system, 3) upgrade the electrical distribution system, 4) update/replace induction units and condensate piping, 5)update lighting and controls, 6) sitework and new dock, 7)update restrooms, 8)upgrade life safety system, 9) update interior and exterior finishes. There is an option to replace exterior windows. Design-Build is anticipated to begin in early 2010. The Construction portion must be accomplished by qualified, experienced, professional general contracting firms. These GC firms must have extensive prior design-build experience. They must be capable of self-performing or supervising commercial glazing, concrete flatwork, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life safety, and interior and exterior finish work. Duration of construction is 720 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. The GC must have bonding ability up to $25 million.
