- This is a sources sought done as part of market research. The purpose of this notice is to identify companies in particular Small Business socio-economic categories capable and qualified of providing a bio-medical waste pickup and disposal service for the 10th Medical Group Acute Care Clinic at the United States Air Force Academy, CO 80840. The requirement will involve the prospective contractor picking up and disposing of bio-medical waste at three locations on the Air Force Academy. Scheduled pickups are Tuesdays at building 4104, the Biohazard Waste Storage Facility and building 5136, Community Center Clinics and on Fridays at building 4104 (above) and building 2355A, Cadet Medical Clinic. Average monthly weight is estimated to be 1620.35 lb at bldg 4104, 40.75 lbs at bldg 5136 and 84.59 lbs at bldg 2355A. It is this agency's intention to do an unrestricted acquisition unless enough qualified small businesses (SB) are located with serious intentions to propose on our requirement allowing for a small business set-aside. This sources sought is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation nor is this notice a request for quotation. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this synopsis. Written responses will not be returned. If your firm is capable and qualified to provide the services required for bio-medical waste pickup and disposal service respond in writing to the point of contact indicated within this announcement. Only interested business concerns serious about potentially providing a proposal shall indicate their interest in this acquisition by providing the company name, mailing address, telephone number, cage code, DUNS number and electronic mail address to the point of contact. Interested business concerns shall also submit appropriate written information and/or data supporting their capability to perform the required services. Identify your business size category (i.e. small business, SDVOB, women-owned, HUBZone, 8(a), etc.) and level of interest. Also, identify whether your company has a Federal Supply Schedule. Responses are due no later than 2:00 PM local Colorado time on 24 April 2009 by either e-mail or fax to719-333-9103. For the purpose of this acquisition, the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 562211 and the applicable size standard is $12.5M.
