- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for 1 each compressed air heat exchanger in accordancewith the following specifications:Specifications for Compressed Air Heat ExchangerInstallation Information: The heater will be installed upstream of a pressure controlvalve and will be used to pre-heat the air to reduce the temperature drop due tothrottling at the control valve.General Specifications:The heat exchanger shall be welded, tested, inspected, and stamped in accordance withASME SEC VIII DIV 1 and TEMA Class B requirements.Shop drawings shall be submitted for approval prior to fabrication.Tube Side Conditions:4000 psig air at 19 lb/sec, Temperature In = 40F, Temperature Out = 300F, 2.0 psipressure drop.Flow media: compressed airTube Side Rating:Design Pressure: 5000 psigDesign Temperature: 20/350FShell Side Conditions:125 psig steam, Temperature In = 353F, 1.0 psi pressure drop.Shell Side Rating:180 psig at 350FMaterial of Construction:Carbon steel shell, tubesheets, nozzles, baffles, and supports.316 SS tubesProcess End Connections:3 2500# Ring type joint flangeThis notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than April 24, 2009. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site forthe release of amendments (if any).
