- The synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is a single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access the information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia, 22448-5l10, plans to procure on a sole source basis, Velocity Micro high performance desktop workstations using the ProMagix W160 PC which has been designed, developed and is only sold through their company located @ 7510 Whitepine Road, Richmond, Virginia 23237 (D&B # 010967433). The government will be purchasing ten (10) units, specially configured to support the startup of the new Karnac and Battle Herc projects, which are quick deadline, multi ! spiral development efforts. These units are configured to specifically interface to Force X Sentry products, which require specific source codes. These are required for critical mission development and in support of National interests (fleet functionality) in a tactical environment in support of the global war against terror. Failure to procure these units will directly impact mission, risk warfighters' lives and impact national security issues. These units will be deployed directly to Afghanistan. These items will be acquired utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. The closing date will be 28 April 2009 with an anticipated award date of 01 May 2009. The GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION AS A RESULT OF THIS NOTICE.
