- PAY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF PREVENTIVE MEDICINE APPLICATION FEE AND SITTING FEE FOR THE RESIDENTS IN AEROSPACE MEDICINE (RAM). This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, a quote is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is an intention for sole source to The American Board of Preventive Medicine (RAMS). Offers shall be evaluated based on the factors contained in the solicitation and award will be made based on the offer which is most advantageous to the government (i.e. best value). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-27 (24 Oct 2008) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement change notice 20081020. It is the offeror's responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The requirement is for the following: Purchase for 28 Residents in Aerospace Medicine (RAM) to obtain the required board certification in Aerospace Medicine. Please include application and sitting fees in the proposal. The destination for this item is Brooks City-Base TX 78235-5116. The NAICS Code is 611691. The type contract anticipated is firm-fixed price. A due date of offers will be 12:00PM, Central Standard Time, 28 April 2009. Statement of Work "Accreditation for the Residents in Aerospace Medicine to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education". Aerospace medicine is defined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as a specialty of medical practice within preventive medicine which focuses on the health of a population group defined by the operating crews and passengers of air and space vehicles, together with the support personnel who are required to operate them. Objectives of the Residency in Aerospace Medicine is to prepare selected flight surgeons to accomplish all aspects of operational medical support to include the practice of aerospace, occupational, and general preventive medicine, to be authorities in the fields of aerospace medicine and preventive or occupational medicine, and to be board certified as specialists in aerospace medicine and preventive or occupational medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). Current year requirement is for 28 Residents in Aerospace Medicine (RAMS).
