- This is a Sources Sought posting for market research purposes only. This is not a Request ForQuote. The Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, CA is seeking vendors capable of providing an Airborne Separation Video (ASV) Remote Sensor (RS) Camera System. Airborne Separation Video (ASV) Remote Sensor (RS) Camera System Salient Characteristics: Airborne Separation Video (ASV) Remote Sensor (RS) Camera System is a digital high-speed airborne camera system. It should include up to 32 digital camera heads. It shall be a remote sensor camera system to support weapons separation testing. The camera system shall have camera heads with small cross sections, which allow the heads to be mounted into areas that are too small for standard and currently available Long-Term Test Capability (LTTC) camera. The RS Camera shall capture high-speed images up to 500 Frames Per Second (FPS) at full image resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. The system shall meet the extreme environmental requirements of the airborne operation on high performance aircrafts. All following Part Numbers are DRS Data & Imaging Systems, Inc. ASVS-RS Head, P/N 1001619-D01, or equivalent - The Remote Sensor camera head requires a 1280 X 1024 pixel CMOS sensor to capture images. RS camera head shall not exceed 3.4" in height, 3.1" in width, and 2.8" in depth and nor exceed 2 lbs. in weight. RS camera head shall capture up to 500 frames per second at full resolution and send the captured images to the remote sensor body for storage via fiber-optic wire. ASVS-RS Body, P/N 1001633-D24, or equivalent - The Remote Sensor Body shall store the captured images from the remote sensor head. The image shall be sent via fiber-optic wire with the storage capability up to 24 Gb of memory from 1-8 camera heads. It shall be anywhere from 4" in height X 5.7" in width X 8" in length with one channel module to 4" in height, 6.8" in width and 8" in length with 4 channel modules and weigh anywhere from 7.8 lbs to 12.4 lbs. COCKPIT CONTROL UNIT (CCU), P/N 2018552, or equivalent - The CCU shall be designed to be mounted in the cockpit of an aircraft. It shall provide overall control of the ASV System. The CCU shall control the operation of the Remote Sensor Body and the Remote Sensor Head. With the use of CCU, the user shall be capable of modifying all camera functions as programmed by the Ground Interface Unit (GIU) via panel-mounted switches and LCD display. CCU shall not exceed 4" in height, 5.7" in width and 5.8" in depth and 5.1 lbs. in weight. GROUND INTERFACE UNIT (GIU), P/N 2021991-00X, or equivalent - Lunch box computer shall run GIU client application software. The GIU shall enable operators to configure frame rate, image size, delay, trigger and synchronization to other cameras. GIU shall save and load camera setup recording parameters, preview images before, after and during recording and perform camera diagnostics and report camera status. Ship Date: 180 DARO. Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide a Airborne Separation Video (ASV) Remote Sensor (RS) Camera System same product or equivalent as listed above. Firms responding to this notice must identify their company's capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the number and indicate whether or not that they are a small business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 334220. The Small Business size standard is 750. The information received as a result of this synopsis will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not this acquisition can be set-aside to small business. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this sources sought synopsis. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded in May 2009.
