Description
On or about 22 May 2009, The NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND, MID-ATLANTIC, ACQUISITION DEPARTMENT, 9742 MARYLAND AVENUE, NORFOLK VIRGINIA 23511-3095 will issue an Invitation For Bid for the Design/ Bid/ Build P-469, Waterfront Improvements at Naval Station, Newport, Rhode Island. The solicitation will close on or about 23 June 2009 and Bids will be opened on or about 23 June 2009. 2:00 PM (EDT). Completion of work: All work must be completed and ready for use no later than 555 calendar days after notice to proceed. This solicitation is being procured using full and open competition. See "Obtaining Solicitation Documents" below. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 237990 with a size standard of $33.5M. The Contractor will be competitively chosen using a Sealed Bid Selection procedure in accordance with FAR PART 14 and 36. Project Description: The contractor will provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, and management necessary to provide demolition of a concrete wharf and metal sheet pile bulkhead and construction of an approximately 259 meter metal sheet pile replacement bulkhead between Piers 1 and 2 at Naval Station, Newport RI. Underwater rock and sediment removal which may potentially require a dredger is a part of this contract. This project also constructs a replacement parking area, storm drainage, and other incidental site related work in support of future ship berthing including planned utilities and tie-structures.. The magnitude of the contract budget award amount is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 dollars. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA. A contract award will be made with reasonable promptness to the responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation for bids, will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and the price-related factors included in the invitation. **This contract will have bid options. Options may be exercised 90 days after contract award. OFFERORS ARE ADVISED AN AWARD IS ANTICIPATED WITHOUT DISCUSSIONS OR ANY CONTACT CONCERNING THE BIDS RECEIVED.
