Description
Western Area Power Administration, Upper Great Plains Region, has arequirementfor a contractor to provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment,tools, transportation, and any other resources necessary to complete thisproject. The principal components of the work involve providing newpre-assembled, non-combustible, metal framed communications buildingscompletewith all required site improvements and all architectural, mechanical andelectrical items. Site improvements include: removal of existing propanegastank, propane tank foundations, and propane gas piping; removal of existing chain link fencing; construction of new reinforced concrete foundations(building, waveguide support and propane tank foundations); providing newpropane gas tank and propane gas piping; providing new buriedcommunicationssite grounding system; providing new site grading, gravel surfacing, andseeding; providing new chain link fencing; and providing new electricalservice. The work is at 10 separate microwave sites located in Blaine,Teton,McCone, Valley, Dawson, and Phillips Counties in Montana and in WilliamsCountyin North Dakota. This solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for Service-DisabledVeteran Owned Small Business companies. The estimated constructionmagnitudeof this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All work is to becompleted within 390 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Any non-U.S. (Foreign National) visiting or working at any Western AreaPowerAdministration facility must receive prior written approval from theappropriate Western Security Manager. All responsible business concernsmaysubmit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency. The solicitation,specifications and drawings, and any subsequent amendments will only beavailable in electronic format, downloadable from the internet. No CD-ROMsorhardcopy documents will be distributed. Interested parties can download the solicitation at http://e-center.doe.gov/ or http://www.fbo.gov on or aboutMay8, 2009 and the projected bid opening date is June 9, 2009. It is theresponsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices andamendments. Note: All bids for this IFB shall be mailed to Western AreaPowerAdministration, 200 4th Street SW, Huron, SD 57350-2474.
