Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division is interested in existing non-developmental or near term developmental ammunition technology that can provide Anti-Surface Warfare (ASUW) and Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), as well as Target Practice Ammunition for the 57mm MK110 MOD 0 gun mount and associated fire control systems. The ammunition technology may be sub-caliber or full caliber, fuzed or unfuzed but should provide minimal time of flight, minimal susceptibility to range meteorological conditions, protection against ECM, lethality against small boat to missile patrol boat size threat craft as well as threat fixed and rotary wing aircraft. The ammunition technology, including any unique fuzing, should reduce Insensitive Munitions (IM) classification (in its packaging and "bare" round condition) reactions and must be suitable from a safety perspective for concurrence from the USN Weapon System Explosive Safety Review Board (WSESRB) for USN operational use. The ammun! ition technology should have terminal lethality for the threats mentioned and therefore provide an effective system while minimizing cost per kill. The NAICS code for this requirement is 332993. The size standard for the NAICS code is 1500 employees. Please articulate within your response the size of your business and any socio-economic programs that may apply.
