- Description
- The Naval Air System Command (NAVAIR) is in the process of updating avionics for the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 aircraft fleet. Due to the unique operating environment of the E-2C, special Filter/Amplifiers are required in order for the avionics to operate properly. In support of this requirement, NAVAIR intends to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Contract to Pole Zero for the manufacture/delivery of UHF Tunable Filter/Amplifier system, triple mount kits, and associated technical data and documentation. For FY 09 a total of 6 kits will be procured. A kit consists of 3 Filters, 3 Amplifiers, 3 Radio Frequency Kits, 1 Mounting Base and all other necessary hardware to mount the tray and filter amplifiers to make them fully functional. The contract will include options for 9 kits to be procured in FY10 (twenty-seven ea: Filters, Amplifiers, and Radio Frequency Kits (3 per unit) and nine Mounting Base/Electrical Equipment Kits). In FY11 the option is for the procurement of 8 kits (twenty-four ea: Filter, Amplifier, Radio Frequency Kits (3 per unit) and 8 Mounting Base/Electrical Equipment Kits). The Filter/Amplifier and the Mounting Bases will be installed into E-2C and TE-2C as part of the CNS/ATM cockpit upgrade As sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of these UHF Tunable Filter/Amplifier systems, only Pole Zero has the requisite knowledge and experience required to successfully design and manufacture the kits without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of cost to the government.
