Description
The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy, Santiago is seeking qualified offerors for the renovation and expansion of the existing Marine Security Guard Residence located in the La Reina district of Santiago. The residence is a detached residential structure constructed in 1950 on 2400 square meters of land. The residence includes a main house and a separate garage/pool house structure. The general project requirements are to expand the main structure by an additional 160 square meters, demolish the existing garage and construct a new gymnasium, and to modify the front gate area to incorporate a new pedestrian entrance and guard booth. This work will require a multi-disciplinary effort to include all trades. The solicitation is planned for release on FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) on or about May 9, 2009, with award of a contract anticipated in the June/July 2009 timeframe. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately one hundred eighty (180) calendar days from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type will be firm fixed-price, and the estimated value of construction is between U.S. $200,000 and $450,000. The solicitation will be unrestricted to allow U.S. and non U.S. firms to participate in the selection process. Obtaining the solicitation: The solicitation, including drawings and specifications, will be available for download from FedBizOpps - website: http://www.fbo.gov. The solicitation, as well as all other associated documents for this project, will not be issued on CD unless there are technical difficulties that cannot be promptly corrected on the FedBizOpps website. All notifications of changes to this solicitation will be made through the Internet only. It is the responsibility of prospective offerors to check for any posted changes to the solicitation. The solicitation will be available for download via the FedBizOpps website on or about May 9, 2009. NO solicitation documents will be mailed, faxed or emailed to prospective offerors. Proposals will be accepted from both U.S. and non U.S. firms; all correspondence will be written in English. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
