- Certified Associate Project Manager Prep CourseNotice of Intent This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Office of Surface Mining, Western Region, 1999 Broadway, Denver, Colorado, 80202 has a requirement to procure the following item: Project Management is one of the core competencies outlined by the Federal CIO Council and is required for the Business Analyst position within Western Region at the GS-11 grade. Familiarization is required for the GS-11 grade and the Project Management Professional (PMP) is required at the GS-13 level.The Project Management Institute establishes standards for maintaining several certification levels, to include the CAPM and PMP. These are based on the Project management Body of Knowledge which establishes the fundamental knowledge baseline for certification. Testing is specific to the current version which creates challenges and constraints during migration to a newer version of the PMBOK. Currently, PMI is migrating from PMBOK version 3 to PMBOK version 4. For those individuals who have invested substantial amounts of time preparing for the certification exam, based on a specific version, arrangements must be made to expedite testing before the new version goes into effect.Statement of Work Requirements:Instructor must be PMI approved vendorInstructor lead training for CAPM test preparation based on the PMBOK version 3Training to occur in MayTraining must be offered for multiple studentsTraining must be in the Denver metro areaTraining must be a 3 day prep courseInstructor must provide books and study material pertinent to the CAPM exam The Government intends to award a sole source contract to:AME Group, Inc, 175 Palm Springs Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 The Government will consider all responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties should submit queries to this requirement in writing to Dawn Trudeau 303-293-5059 (dtrudeau@osmre.gov) by close of business March 26, 2009. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence, that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
