- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA, intends to award an additional five (5) Linear Demolition Charge Systems (LDCS) under existing Contract M67854-07-D-5069, to EG&G Technical Services, Inc, Albuquerque, NM, using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The additional systems units are to be used in support of the Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV) requirements. The Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), based on the Abrams M1A1 chassis, provides the Marine Air Ground Task Force with the capability to conduct in-stride breaching of minefields and complex obstacles. The LDCS, a subsystem of the ABV, provides the explosive breaching capability and consists of a Control Box, Local/Remote Box, Selector Switch Box, Port and Starboard Weldment, Port and Starboard Lift Junction Box, Port and Starboard Rocket Rail Lift Motors, and a variety of sensors and electrical har! nesses. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A written response must include evidence of the respondent's ability to support the proposed requirement. Interested parties with the capability of meeting the proposed requirements are requested to provide an E-mail to the MCSC point of contact, Mr. Tom Anable, (thomas.anable@usmc.mil) not later than 1400 (2:00 p.m. EST) May 15, 2009 expressing interest and outlining their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely wi! thin the discretion of the Government.
