Below is a list of several statement/questions discussed at the pre-bid conference and submitted Requesting Information up to the above date: Is project advertised (publically opened bids) or negotiated? Project is RFP no public bid opening proposal shall be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed in the solicitation. Will voice communication system requirement be deleted from the fire alarm system? YES, DO NOT INCLUDE IN YOUR PROPOSAL All third floor work to be done on nights and weekends per note on sheet AS101? YES, PLAN ACCORDINGLY; however opportunities might arise to perform during normal working hours The VA surveyed the building for lead paint and asbestos. If lead or asbestos is found, the VA will abate. YES, GC WILL MAKE AREAS ACCESSIBLE AND ALLOW FOR TIME TO PERFORM ABATEMENT SEE 010000-7 1.6 SPEC SECTION FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS Notes referring to mechanical work are to be deleted. There is no mechanical work. YES, NO HVAC WORK DISREGARD No pneumatic tube rework or new work. CORRECT Does the VA plan to deactivate/reactivate the fire alarm each work day? YES, IF THE SPECIFIC AREA CANNOT BE ISOLATED FROM MAIN SYSTEM. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL NOT BE DEACTIVATED FOR LONG PERIODS; ESP. DURING INACTIVE PERIODS OF WORK VA will allow use of temporary utilities (power, water and toilets). YES, CORRECT Can you provide approximate location of construction dumpster. PLAN FOR LOCATION AT WATER TOWER ADJACENT TO ENGINEERING BLDG 20 WILL BE THE FURTHEREST. No building permit will be required. YES, CORRECT Re-painting of reworked walls will be from corner-to-corner, not the entire room. CORRECT, IF YOU CAN PROVIDE AN ACCURATE COLOR AND TEXTURE TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT WALLS The fire sprinkler drawing requires dry system coverage on the balconies. Please specify location of the air compressor and related equipment and provide electrical design for same. THE DRY SYSTEM SHOWN IS THE PORCH CEILINGS. Drawing AS101 A1 AS101. Partial plan shows note F 1/3. There is not a note F 1/3 in the door schedule on AS601. Please Advise. Note is a typo. Should read F1 1 hour rating Amendment No. 1 Solicitation Number: VA247-09-RP-0165 April 28, 2009 Page 3 of 3 2. Drawing AS-101. Key notes do not have a Note #4. Per A1 AS101 Partial Plan. Please Advise. Key note #4 used to call for card reader access. No card reader required. Disregard keynote. 3. Drawing AS-101 C6 AS101. Partial plan Note #12 is clear at the door location, but is the window to the left to be removed and a wall installed or is a structural insulated panel to take up the complete space? Please Advise. See photo E7/AS201. Clarification: Remove door, HM frame, and sidelights only. Maintain decorative pediment and upper window and provide SIP infill @ upper window per detail E4/AS101. 4. Drawing AS601. Jamb detail C shows sanitary stop on door frames this will not give you a fire rated frame. Please Advise. This is a boiler plate VA detail. This is not a medical use, therefore disregard sanitary stop requirement at all new doors. D. Drawing AS 100. Key Notes #9. There are no mechanical Plans for ventilation scope and no specifications for this work. Please Advise. Leftover note from DD mechanical venting design in projection booth. Disregard 1.Drawing AS 100. Sign Detail F^-AS100 and Key Notes # 5; is Note 5 and sign detail one in the same? If they are, please provide wording, mounting location, and number of signs required. Please advise. Key note #5 corresponds to detail F6/AS100. See drawing D2/AS100 for sign location to be placed in vicinity of door on the corridor side. Key note 11 corresponds to detail D6/AS100. See drawing A2/AS100 for sign location to be placed in clear view and close proximity to the base of the stairs. Both signs are to have the text shown in the detail. Total of 1 sign per each note/detail.
