- Description
- Components and System Configuration Air Force Research Laboratory Rome Research Site (AFRL RRS) is conducting market research to determine the commercial availability and technical capability of products which could fulfill requirements for Windows Terminal Server (WTS) infrastructure in support of Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) sites. The goal of the DoDIIS Trusted Workstation (DTW) program is to allow a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) cleared user to concurrently access multiple networks (TS/SCI level and below) from a single DTW thin client workstation. Each network is presented and handled as an isolated windows-like session on the DTW thin client workstation. The DTW thin client workstation relies on WTS infrastructure to provide access to Microsoft Windows based applications (e.g. Office Automation). A given WTS suite is only allowed to operate at a single security level (i.e. single network), therefore, at least one WTS suite is required for EACH network where Windows based applications will be used. Any systems identified in response to this Sources Sought Notice must be compatible with the existing system and be fully supportable even if being used with another brand of equipment. Systems identified must meet or exceed the physical, functional, and performance characteristics of the working solution described in the attachment to this document. The working solution is manufactured by Hewlett Packard and is in use as a baseline system at a central site. The attached spreadsheet describes the components and system configuration (servers, power, network, storage) that comprise the existing WTS suite. One strength of the blade architecture in the WTS suite is the use of a common enclosure with shared power supplies, network and storage resources that serves to lower the overall cost of the system. It is requested that responses: (a) identify system components and capabilities in a manner similar to that in the attached spreadsheet, (b) include a technical description of the system in sufficient detail for the Government to make a meaningful assessment, and (c) provide any information regarding successful deployment of the system in an analogous environment. Responses and questions may be submitted in writing to Charlene Booth, Contract Specialist, at charlene.booth@rl.af.mil, AFRL/RIKO, 26 Electronic Parkway, Rome NY, 13441-4514. This Sources Sought Notice is for planning purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. Any information provided to the Government as a result of this Sources Sought Notice is voluntary. Responses will not be returned. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses or the Government's use of such information. The information obtained from responses to this Sources Sought Notice may be used as market research and in development of an acquisition strategy.
