- Description
- The U. S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project entitled "2009 Roof Improvements" at USDA-ARS-MWA, Dairy Forage Research Center (DFRC), Madison, WI. The project generally consists of replacing the existing roof materials. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing roof membrane, insulation, flashing, counterflashing and expansion joint down to existing concrete deck. Repair/patch existing concrete deck as necessary. Remove and salvage existing stone ballast. Inspect existing stone ballast and if necessary, provide new, clean, river washed stone ballast to replace up to 50% of the existing ballast. Install new roof membrane, rigid insulation, expansion joint, flashing, counterflashing salvaged, and new stone ballast. In addition, work will include re-flashing and/or sealing around all roof penetrations to create watertight assemblies. The procurement of the project includes a base bid and two bid options. The base bid roof area is approximately 7307 square feet; bid option 1 is approximately 659 square feet; and bid option 2 is approximately 929 square feet. The period of performance is 147 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 to 250,000. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. All responsible Businesses may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 238160 and the annual size standard is 14 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-32. Solicitation No. AG-5114-S-09-AA10 is scheduled for uploading on or about May 12, 2009. The solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the solicitation, as well as any amendments that may arise. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. Sealed bids will be due by 2:00 PM on June 15, 2009. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the lowest bid. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation, and register or update their registration at the Online Representation and Certification Application website at http://orca.bpn.gov.
