- Description
- The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is soliciting proposals for the National Cord Blood Inventory Augmentation, Fourth Cohort. The purpose of the contract will be to provide for the collection and maintenance of genetically diverse, high-quality umbilical cord blood units (CBU's) for inclusion in the National Cord Blood Inventory (NCBI). The Government anticipates making multiple awards from this solicitation. The Period of Performance will be for 10 years with no Federal funds obligated after 3-years of the effective date of the contract. This acquisition is being conducted under Full and Open competition. It should be noted that according to the Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act of 2005 (Public Law 109-129), "The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall enter into one-time contracts [this means those having received awards under solicitation 06-N234-5504-AM ; 07-N234-5765-dm or 08-N234-6002 would not be eligible for award] with qualified cord blood banks to assist in the collection and maintenance of 150,000 new units of high-quality cord blood to be made available for transplantation through the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program." The solicitation will be issued on or about 13 May 2009. It will be available at this website at www.fbo.gov under HHS, Health Resources and Services Administration, Posted Dates. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the site for any amendments to the solicitation. The Agency will consider proposals from all responsible sources.
