- The Rock Island Contracting Center (RICC) is seeking possible sources of supply for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 through Fiscal Year 2014 acquisition of dye for colored smoke M18 grenades. Total Summary of Dyes (estimated amounts): FY 10 = 92K lbs, FY 11 = 102K lbs, FY 12 = 114K lbs, FY 13 = 98K lbs, FY 14 = 103K lbs Broken down as: 1)Dye, Mix, Solvent Green 3, FY 10 = 22K lbs, FY 11 = 21K lbs, FY 12 = 32 lbs, FY 13 = 24K lbs, FY 14 = 25K lbs (Total for FY 10 through FY 14 = 124K lbs) 2)Dye, Mix, Solvent Yellow 33, FY 10 = 41K lbs, FY 11 = 46K lbs, FY 12 = 49K lbs, FY 13 = 46K lbs, FY 14 = 45K lbs (Total for FY 10 through FY 14 = 227K lbs) 3)Dye, Disperse Red 9-Dextrin, FY 10 = 6K lbs, FY 11 = 7K lbs, FY 12 = 12K lbs, FY 13 = 8K lbs, FY 14 = 8K lbs (Total for FY 10 through FY 14 = 41K lbs) 4)Dye, Mix, Violet Metric, FY 10 = 23K lbs, FY 11 = 28K lbs, FY 12 = 21K lbs, FY 13 = 20K lbs, FY 14 = 25K lbs (Total for FY 10 through FY 14 = 117K lbs) Specifications applicable to this acquisition include: Dye, Solvent Yellow 33, MIL-DTL-51485B(EA), dated 5 July 2006 Dye, Solvent Green 3, MIL-DTL-3277F(EA), dated 5 July 2006 Dye, Disperse Red 9-Dextrin, MIL-DTL-3284F(EA), dated 13 June 2006 Dye Mix, Violet, MIL-DTL-3691E, dated 15 August 2006 The dye characteristics must include: the average (or mean) particle size, the particle size distribution, and the percent of particle size that is less than 10 microns. The requirements for the particle size is a mean particle size of between 30 and 45 microns, with the total distribution having only one mode (single-peak distribution) and no more than 20% of total particle size distribution shall fall below 10 microns. One solicitation may be issued for all four dyes and First Article Testing (FAT) is required. Interested sources need to submit terms and conditions, delivery schedule for FAT, warranty, and cost estimates for budgetary purposes only. Also request you provide recommendations for the most advantageous delivery schedules to include monthly capability for a single dye or any combination of all four dyes mentioned above. There is no firm requirement for these dyes. The NAICS code is 325132. This is for MARKET RESEARCH ONLY.
