- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Information Administration, intends to award a contract to Opis Energy Group of Gaithersburg, MD. Opis Energy Group is looking to provide consistent and constant intraday alerts via email alerts throughout the day regarding all aspects of the Energy Industry. The email alerts that Opis Energy is proposing to provide will enable the Energy Information Administration to access the very latest information and data related to energy markets. Opis Energy is looking to provide this service for a period of two years. The statutory authority for permitting other than full and open competition for this contract is Section 303[c][1] of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949, as amended by the Competition in Contracting Act, 41 USC 253[c][1]. The applicable authority is 10 U.S.C.2304 (d) (B), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1[a] [2] [ii] [B], which authorizes other than full and open competition when ther e is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services that will satisfy agency requirements; and when it is likely that an award to any other source may result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency?s requirements.
