Description
The U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA in support of USSOCOM utilizing FAR PART 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with PART 15 Contracting by Negotiation, has a requirement for commercially available knee and elbow protective pads (KEPS)in support of the Rapid Fielding Initiative. The KEPS are intended to provide protection for the knees and elbows of Soldiers while they engage in tasks that subject these areas to discomfort and potential injury caused by impacts or pressure. The KEPS shall protect from protruding objects and debris (e.g. rocks, gravel, glass) and not restrict range of motion or circulation while remaining securely in place during individual movement tactics. Production Demonstration Models (PDMs) shall be submitted for each submission. The Government anticipates making one (1)award but reserves the right to make no awards. This will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside award. This is not a request for proposals (RFP). The Government intends to make one award on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) 5 Year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract as a result of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government anticipates a single (5) year ordering period. The anticipated total minimum requirement is 50,000 with a maximum total requirement of 500,000 units. The successful offeror will receive the first delivery order (DO) with the minimum quantity mentioned above for the award. Comments relating to this pre-solicitation notice should be submitted via email to Nathan Jordan, at Nathan.c.Jordan@us.army.mil, no later than 19 May 2009 at 1000 am est. The Government anticipates releasing the RFP on or about 26 May 2009.
