THIS IS A REISSUE OF A PREVIOUS NOTICE. THE DATE FOR INDUSTRY DAY IS CHANGED TO MAY 15, 2009, ALL OTHER REQUIREMENT REMAIN UNCHANGED. REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED, EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Construction and Facilities Management will be hosting an Industry Forum in Orlando, Florida. The Industry Day Forum is scheduled to take place, at 9:00 AM EDT on May 15, 2009, at the Orlando Airport Marriott 7499 Augusta National Drive Orlando, Florida 32822. The Marriott is approximately two miles north of Orlando International Airport (airport code MCO). The purpose of the forum is to discuss and inform the contracting community of the upcoming construction of the New Orlando VA Medical Center. Topics of discussion will be the project scope, bid packaging/phases, schedule, and contracting requirements for the New Orlando VA Medical Center project. The members of the VA project team for Industry Day are Project Manager Randall McMasters, A-E, Ellerbe Becket/RLF, Orlando VA Medical Center representative(s), and Contracting Officer. The agenda will include a welcoming and vision statement from the Orlando VA Medical Center representative(s), an overall program review including details about the various campus facilities to be constructed by the Ellerbe Becket/RLF, an overview of bid packaging/phases and scheduling for the project, a presentation on contracting with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office Small and Disadvantaged Businesses will highlight doing business with VA and will conclude with time for questions and answers. All interested general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors are invited and encouraged to attend.
