The equipment must use sensors that are explosion proof, operator friendly, intrinsically safe, and non destructive to production rounds. Also, the equipment must measure in real time, at a high rate, and feedback into a control system. The instrument should be able to measure the following properties: 1) solidification front 2) density 3) voids 4) base/side gaps 5)settling. Furthermore, the instrument should be mobile from cooling station to cooling station. Interested organizations who feel that they are capable of supplying this type of instrument are invited to indicate their ability by providing specifications, brochures, and drawings within 15 days of the date of this notice to US Army.
