- Description
- The 554 ELSG Program Office is seeking information from industry regarding possible technical approaches to fulfill the AF/A1 community's requirement to automate the pre-board preparation and board promotion scoring process to include an ergonomic, multi-touch GUI with a peer presentation layer to review, score, enlarge, and display Air Force member records. The 554 ELSG Program Office is especially interested in creative suggestions, even if they involve radical changes to the current approach. This RFI is in support of an AF/A1 transformation initiative to improve personnel processes and optimize personnel resources. The purpose of this RFI is to determine the availability, feasibility and viability of existing technologies to meet the subjectInformation RequestThe 554 ELSG Program Office welcomes your comments on the requirement provided and associated activities; particularly on how to enhance and automate the current process by leveraging an existing system wherever possible and/ or developing a system that not only allows the Promotion Board (PB) members to perform their duties effectively, but also with an aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically correct environment. The Program Office is especially interested in creative suggestions to the following questions, for strengthening over the long term any and all aspects of our system for identifying the most meritorious and innovative research for support:1.Challenges of eBOSS System RequirementPlease describe any specific challenges presented by the eBOSS concept/need statement such as any vague statements or inconsistencies that may eventually lead to changes in the technical approach.2.Solutions to ChallengesPlease concisely describe specific approaches or concepts that would address any of the above challenges, even if it involves a radical change to the current approach.3.Suggested Hardware and SoftwarePlease suggest the appropriate hardware or software needed to provide the multi-touch screen technology required for the Promotion Board Members. Identify the most ergonomically correct and aesthetic solution as well as knowledge and experience configuring the software inherent to the display screen.4.Suggested interface solutionPlease suggest the appropriate method for acquiring data for use in the board room from all 14 systems identified as data providers. Please note some of the functions performed by the systems include the logic necessary to prepare for Promotion Boards. Also, please note the Force Development Execution Support System (FDESS) is currently in development and is expected to be released by 05 Jan 2010.5.Suggested Hardware and Software for the Integration LayerPlease suggest the HW & SW required to build the integration layer between the multi-touch display technology, the logic layer and the data.
