- The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for HubZone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Small Business. The estimated dollar value of this procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE REPAIRS to the USCGC EAGLE (WIX-327), a 295 FOOT BARQUE. The vessel’s homeport is New London, CT. All work will be performed at the vessel’s homeport. The performance period will be FORTY-SEVEN (47) calendar days, with a start date on or about October 5, 2009. The scope of the acquisition is, but not limited to: 1) Renew Structural Closures; 2) Renew Handrail 01 Deck Fantail; 3) Renew Life Raft Support Brackets; 4) Renew Exhaust Stack Partial; 5) Clean Laundry Ventilation Systems; 6) Clean Galley & Scullery Ventilation Systems; 7) Overhaul Vaneaxial Fans and Motor Assemblies; 8) Renew Ventilation Ducting and Insulation; 9) Clean, Inspect and Test Hot Water Accumulator Tank; 10) Perform Crescent Boat Davit Maintenance; 11) Perform Vertical Capstan Maintenance; 12) Modify Oily Water Separator System Discharge Piping; 13) Test and Overhaul Potable Water Valves; 14) Renew Padeyes for Foremast Backstays Partial; 15) Renew Deck Covering Systems; 16) Clean and Inspect Emergency Diesel Generator In-Place; 17) Replace Fuse Panel; 18) Renew Teak Caulk; 19) Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements; 20) Install New Deck Covering System; 21) Preserve Gallows; 22) Renew #1 A/C Sea Strainer. Provide protective deck covering material. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time this acquisition is expected to be issued small business set-aside. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305 and FAR 19.1405, if your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following (a) positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project title, dollar amount, points of contact and phone numbers; (c) Past Performance references with points of contacts and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by May 20, 2009. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HubZone Set Aside, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or a Small Business Set-Aside. Failure to submit information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as HubZone Set-Aside, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on FEDBizOps website at http://www.eps.gov.
