Description
NOTICE OF INTENT - Brand Name Justification for Microsoft Software Enterprise License Agreement and Maintenance The Internal Revenue Service intends to award a purchase order for commercial items. We will be issuing an order to a Federal Supply Service (FSS) schedule contractor. This purchase order will be made under the Authority of FAR Part 11.105 and FAR Part 52.211-6 - Brand Name or Equal. The IRS is requesting software maintenance renewal for Informatica software for the DITE project requirement for existing licenses. This purchase is for the support for PRIME, for the Modernization program in MTC – DITE. The DITE project is a large Modernization project and they require Informatica software to use in a non-production, test only environment to satisfy their security and software requiremens. The Informatica software is already purchased and has been installed at the IRS for the use with the DITE project. No other software has been found that can meet the needs of the Service. Removal and replacement of the Informatica software would be costly and would cause the DITE project to potentially crash as replacement software would not be able to perform all of the functions of the Informatica Software. This requirement is for software maintenance to ensure that any problems with the existing software can be fixed in a timely manner. It will also enable upgrades to the software to be received and installed in the current operating environment. The selected product must be capable of complying with the IRS Enterprise Architecture and specifically be able to integrate within the native Active Directory environment in order to be able to scale to enterprise levels and be able to be supported and managed with limited resource overhead. The maintenance and software assurance will be applied to all IRS laptop and desktop computers connected to the IRS network and also standalone. The delivery order will be fulfilled by one GSA FSS schedule contractor. Questions can be e-mailed Mary.mudd@irs.gov.
