Description

USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is announcing a project under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. NRCS is contracting for repairs to the Chambers Creek Site 75A in Ellis County, Texas. The work includes the furnishing of all labor, transportation, materials, equipment and incidentals required to install lime-treatment on both the upstream and downstream slopes of the embankment, and repairing the wave berm. The major items of work consist of the following: preparing the access and campsites; removing fences from the work area; clearing and grubbing the work area; stripping and stockpiling the topsoil from the embankment and lime processing area; excavating the embankments slopes and wave berm; rebuilding the wave berm with earthfill; backfill the embankment slopes with lime treated earthfill; placing rock and topsoil and vegetate the disturbed areas. The lime will be added to and mixed with the earthfill material in a designated processing area. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted o/a May 29, 2009. Range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. An amendment to this announcement will be posted once the site showing date/time/location is confirmed.
