Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to procure twenty-four (24) LAU-117 Dual Mode Launchers (DML) with Raytheon Company, Missile Systems of Tuscon AZ. The LAU-117 DML is required to provide Maverick Missile capability on the P-3C aircraft. The Maverick Missile is configured with the Digital Stores Management System (DSMS). The DSMS is a digital armament control system and requires an interface to convert digital control signals to analog Maverick command signals. The LAU-117 DML was developed by Raytheon Company, Missile System is the only DML to integrate with the Maverick Missle System. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, this firm is considered the only supplier for this requirement. Raytheon is the OEM for the LAU-117 Dual Mode Launcher (DML), owns the Maverick Universal Test and Troubleshooting Set (MUTTS) and all technical data. The Government has no rights or insight for this unit. NAVAIR intends to procure the LAU-117 DML under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation package is available for this procurement. However, all responses to this synopsis received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
