- Slides of USAFA Network Architecture Draft Design General Information Issue Date: May 15, 2009 Response Deadline for Attendence of Conference: May 20, 2009 4:00 pm, Mountain Time Conference Date: May 22, 2009 2:00-4:00 pm, Mountain Time Response Deadline for RFI: June 5, 2009 4:00 pm, Mountain Time NAICS Code: 541512 Contracting Office Address Mrs. Elizabeth Lawson, Contracting Officer Mr. Christopher Wilson, Contract Specialist United States Air Force Academy 8110 Industrial Drive USAF Academy CO 80840-2315 Purpose The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to collect Market Research Information and industry expertise for the purpose of considering various methodologies and state-of-the-art capabilities for the modernization and revamping of the Unites States Air Force Academy Network Architecture which may or may not be used to formulate an acquisition strategy in the future. The attached architectural brief describes the as-is architecture and considers several possible simplified to-be architectures that is illustrated with use cases. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is interested in industry feedback regarding the feasibility of the various architectural options shown in the attached PowerPoint presentation, implementation & operational information, as well as costing information that may be helpful for future acquisition planning and assigning a project magnitude. Written feedback can be provided to the contract Specialist, 719-333-3600, christopher.wilson@usafa.af.mil. This will also be discussed in an open forum Conference on May 22, 2:00-4:00 pm Mountain Standard Time, in the 10th Communications Squadron conference room, building 4199. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPORSAL (RFP). This notice is issued solely for market research for planning purposes and does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. No award will be made from this RFI and the Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice. Firms responding to this announcement should include company name, point of contact, address and indicate whether they are a large business, small business, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUB Zone small business, small disadvantaged business, or women-owned small business. Responses should include a Statement of Capability (SOC) that addresses the vendor's ability to provide IT Architecture Support Services. All feedback will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for a possible future acquisition. After review of the responses to this RFI, if the Government plans to proceed with an acquisition, a solicitation will be published on Federal Business Opportunities ( www.fedbizopps.gov ). It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for a future synopsis/solicitation, as they will not be notified. All contractors who wish to attend the Conference must submit their name and the last 4 numbers of their social security number to Mr. Christopher Wilson, Contract Specialist, christopher.wilson@usafa.af.mil by 4:00 pm Mountain Time on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Individuals who show up on the day of the Conference that have not previously submitted their name and social security information will not be allowed to attend the presentation. Please bring appropriate identification for entry and allow adequate time for security check-in. The Government will begin the presentation promptly at 2:00.
