- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) intends to solicit, on a Sole Source basis, iRobot Corporation, 8 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730-1402, to provide systems engineering and design to integrate an existing iRobot data bubble and dispenser into an ongoing Office of Naval Research (ONR) project. The bubble and dispenser system has been selected by ONR for integration into the system being developed which requires engineering modifications, test, and manufacture. This effort is sole source for the following reasons. The iRobot design of the bubbles and dispensers has been selected by ONR for use on this project. iRobot is the only company that owns the data and design of the equipment. Use of another company to redesign the system would introduce new and unacceptable delays as well as large cost increases. Additionally, selecting a new contractor could easily introduce unacceptable errors into the system and render it unacceptable for op! erational use. This is an FNC which is a limited project that will not yield an operational system for future use. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Ave, Panama City Beach, FL 32407-7018.
