Description
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) AND SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. THE NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY, AND SHALL NOT BE TAKEN AS A COMMITMENT OF SOLICITATION, OR A PROMISE OF A RESULTANT AWARD. This notice is intended to gather information on the availability and interest of sources. Any resulting solicitation will be issued separately. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this notice. Response to this Sources Sought Notice/Request for Information is voluntary and at the contractor's expense. The USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Defense Institute for Medical Operations (DIMO) seeks sources that can provide an Infectious Disease Specialist. The Specialist will assist DIMO with developing, producing, and teaching exportable courses in the areas of Pandemic Influenza, HIV, Ebola, Malaria and Tuberculosis to students representing foreign governments and international health agencies. Other services will include organizing bio-security conferences that will be attended by senior military and civilian foreign government officials, and leading/participating in other bio-security related subject matter exchanges. Proposed personnel must be a United States citizen able to obtain a SECRET-level security clearance, be board certified in Infectious Diseases, and possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US state or territory. In addition, the Specialist must have experience in academia and military medical operations, and be physically able to travel overseas. Experience in international relations and research is highly desirable. Place of performance is at the DIMO Office, Brooks City Base TX. Both part-time support of not less than 16 hours per week, and support for full 40 hours per week are acceptable. Initial period of performance will not exceed one year. Respondents should specifically address their professional qualifications, any military and/or international experience, and any past experience relevant to the services outlined above.
