Description
Combined Synopsis-Solicitation for a Storage Area Network. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and A SEPERATE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This requirement is subject to the availability of funds. The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Discipline (WRD), Menlo Park, CA, has a requirement for a Storage Area Network (SAN) System with a Storage Platform Solution. ITEM DESCRIPTION: At a minimum, the system must meet all of the following technical requirements:14-15 TB's Serial ATA (SATA) StorageHot swappable drives w/ redundant componentsRAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, & 1+0 level support with "active-active" failover host controllersOS independentRack Mounted (3U rack space)Web-enabled management for system configuration, event & component monitoring & controlDedicated Server w/ following specificationsDual-Core Xeon processorInstalled storage software package to eliminate compatibility & future integration issues for virtualization of storage to eliminate the need for single-vendor specific equipment for future upgrade requirementsHardware & software installed by vendorTraining for three techniciansNote: SAN and software solution must be configured to accommodate the addition of an automated tape back-up solution at a later date. Service maintenance agreement:Three year hardware support for SANOne year support for dedicated serverOne year software support; renewable prior to expiration of support Deliver to: USGS WRD345 Middlefield Road MS 466Menlo Park, CA 95025Attn: Arlington Prodigalidad The delivery date is no later than July 1, 2009. This solicitation document contains incorporated provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-32, Tech Amend, dated 14May 2009. The solicitation number for this procurement is 09WRQQ0107 and is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This is request is issued as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Sat-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 518210 with an applicable size standard of $25.0M. Provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. Request for Quotation (RFQ) should be submitted and shall contain the following information: RFQ NUMBER; TIME SPECIFIED FOR RECEIPT OF OFFERS; NAME, ADDRESS; TELEPHONE NUMBER OF OFFEROR; TERMS OF THE EXPRESSED WARRANTY; ANY DISCOUNT TERMS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ALL SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS (if applicable). Signed quotes must indicate quantity, unit price and total amount for each item. Offerors shall include a statement specifying the extent of agreement with all terms, conditions and provisions included in the solicitation. Quote shall also contain all other documentation specified herein.EVALUATION/AWARD: The Government will award a purchase order to the offeror whose price is judged to represent the best value to the government. Evaluation criteria are as follows Lowest Price Technically Acceptable as described in the Item Description above.All offerors must be Central Contractor Registered (CCR) and online representation and certification application (ORCA) must be activated. ORCA registration for on line representation and certification requirements may be viewed via the internet at www.bpn.gov.
