Description
Intent to Sole Source: This is a notice of intent of The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center to negotiate solely with Biosense Webster, Inc., a large business, to provide the following equipment: 1)One Carto XP System 2)One Stockert 70 Generator 3)One CoolFlow Irrigation Pump 4)One CartoMerge Image Integration Software Module 5)One CartoSound Image Integration Software Module 6)One year premium service agreement for the above equipment The government believes that this is the only system that uses ablation catheters approved for atrial fibrillation by the FDA. Other catheters have recently been found to cause life-threatening complications when performing catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation. The government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 339112, with a size standard of 500 employees. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. Such information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. No solicitation will be made available and all information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the government. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted, nor will responses be received after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
