- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to negotiate a sole-source procurement with the University of Maryland College Park, MD, (UMDCP)Department of Mechanical Engineering. The personnel of Dept of Mechanical Engineering will provide technical services in support of the NSWCCD's project entitled "Development of Two-Component Nanocomposites for Efficient Thermoelectric Refrigeration and Power Generation." Support will entail testing and evaluation both at the NSWCCD and UMDCP. UMDCP has the equipment not currently available at the NSWCCD that is capable of producing nano-materials. The personnel of the Dept of Mechanical Engineering have extensive experience in the measurement of thermal physical properties of nano scale materials. The proposed contract action is for non-commercial services for which the Government intends to solicit with only one source using Simplified Acquisition Proedures. A firm fixed-price purchase order is anticipated. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
