Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) National Highway, Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) intend to award an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC), on a Time and Materials contract for a base period of two (2) years.. The National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) (an operating administration within the United States Department of Transportation) is responsible for reducing the number of injuries and deaths on the highways resulting from vehicle crashes. In support of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 201, “Occupant Protection in Interior Impact,” which became a Federal Standard effective January 1, 1968. FMVSS No. 201 was substantially amended on August 18, 1995, to require passenger cars and trucks, buses, and multipurpose passenger vehicles to provide protection when an occupant’s head strikes upper interior components, including pillars, side rails, headers and the roof, during a crash. The amendments added performance requirements and test procedures for a new in-vehicle component test.The purpose of this contract is to procure testing services so that the Government can determine whether vehicles comply with the upper interior head impact protection requirements of FMVSS No. 201 This is Full and Open Competition requirement. NAICS code for this contract is 541380. After open competition, the Government intends to a Firm Fixed-price, Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) contract is planned for a base period of two years and one three year option. Electronic copies of the RFP and any other documentation related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a WWW browser application. The Internet site or URL for the FedBizOpps page www.fedbizopps.gov. It is the Offeror’s responsibility to monitor the Internet sites for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Request for paper copies of the RFP will not be accepted.
