Description
Description: Questions received from interested participants and our responses follow: 19. Question: The quantities for line items #0008 and #0009 stayed the same when the unit was changed from SF to CY. Did the quantities change this much? They are very much out of proportion from the original bid. If the units were CF the quantities would be about the same. If these two line items are bid at this high quantity of CY they will dominate the bid. RESPONSE: Revised Bid Schedule is atteched 20. Question: Line item #0008 is for pads from 6 to 14 and is measured in CY. If concrete is over 14 thick what line item will be used? RESPONSE: 0008. See Revised Bid Schedule 21. Question: Line item #0009. The outside walls of the Korean War buildings we were shown have 24 x 36 columns every 26 feet with ten or twelve 40 foot lengths of 1 rebar in them. Since the concrete cant be larger than 3 x 2 x 18 when taken to the landfill, does the contractor have to cut all these pieces of rebar that is in the concrete? The cubic yard cost for removing this wall is very different than removing an 8 cinderblock wall with no rebar in it. Is it possible to make two line items for these very different items? RESPONSE: Yes, Shall be required to cut rebar in concrete. See Revised Bid Schedule 22. Question: Line item #0008. The base of the chimney in a Korean War building is a 15 foot octagon that is 3 feet thick and filled with rebar. The cubic yard cost for removing this concrete is very different from the cost of removing an 8 to 10 thick pad with little or no wire in it. Is it possible to make two line items for these very different items? RESPONSE: See Revised Bid Schedule Closing date is extended to 05-27-2009 1:00 P.M. CT.
