- Description
- Amendment #2 Question #1 Section 3 Cabinetry/Cabinet: Do you have a layout drawing or design on the cabinet. It appears to be a “single drawer weapons locker”, but discusses adjustable shelves, vertical dividers and doors. In regards to the Section 3, there is an attached drawing. The items identified (shelving, doors, etc.) is a generic description scope of work, this will not apply to these units. However, dividers will be part of the drawer system to provide the handler options. Question #2 Will the chassis be delivered? It is NOW requested that the contractor provide a cost estimate to pick up these units at our warehouse in Sterling, Virginia via trucking company and drop ship via trucking company two units at Glynco Ga., one unit at Dallas, Texas, and one unit at Sterling Virginia. Complete address will be provided upon award of the contract. This is a change to the original statement of work. Question #3 Can you clarify the layout? It is a basic layout as far as a police package goes. It states in the scope of work plans need to be submitted for all electrical, cabinetry, and console before work will begin. This means that the contractor will have to provide proof of their knowledge of law enforcement vehicles and be able to work closely with ATF before any work is to begin. Amendment #3 Question #4 Federal Signal and Code 3 make comparable products that would work seamlessly into your existing fleet, and we would be glad to build a pilot vehicle for your evaluation, or send samples to you for you too look at. I think if they were to be considered you would agree that these 2 companies make superior LED products. That was the only question on the lights. In regards to the warning system of the four vehicles, the installation of the Federal Signal, Soundoff Signal, 911 EP or the Code 3 system is acceptable. It will require the same scope of work regarding the electrical system and to ensure that the manufactures warranty is voided. In reference to a pilot vehicle, this would enable our law enforcement staff to evaluate the unit and identify any issues that they may have, providing there is no cost to the Bureau. In the event there may be a cost associated with option, the Bureau would decline such an offer. Question #5 On the K9 unit would you consider an aluminum unit made by American aluminum products, we have found out that they are just as rugged but a lot lighter which could help with fuel mileage in the long run, and it dissipates heat a lot better than the steel one. And there will be no rust issues in the future. In regards to the K9 cage, it has been determined that the use of the steel model is the only acceptable unit due to safety and standardization reasons. Question #6 On the cabinet, have you looked at a manufacture for your design? What are you currently using? In regards to the truck vault, the unit from Odyssey is the preferred model to be used, providing standardization of our fleet Amendment #4 See correction in question #4 to state "NOT" voided Question #4 Federal Signal and Code 3 make comparable products that would work seamlessly into your existing fleet, and we would be glad to build a pilot vehicle for your evaluation, or send samples to you for you too look at.
