This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC to post a sources sought synopsis to solicitresponses from interested parties. This document is for information and planningpurposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibilityof the requirement, as well as promote competition. Prospective offerors are invited tosubmit written comments or questions to: Jonathon D. When responding reference Sources Sought Synopsis 4 for SN GroundSegment Sustainment.This pre-solicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government,nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response.Respondents willnot be notified of the results.1.What would be the impact if SGSS is planning to implement the RF hardware(up-converters, down converters, HPAs) in the tunnel beneath antenna bases for everyantenna at STGT, WSGT and Guam?2.What would be the strategies for the implementation providing that the waveguidesand cables are existing in the tunnel and they need to be there to provide the fall backcapabilities?3.If the existing tunnel cannot accommodate any new hardware, how feasible would itbe for a small shed to be built above the tunnel in the vicinity of the antenna that willhave no obstructions to the rotation of the antenna and providing no radiation hazardsinto the shed?4.What are the challenges and risks of digitizing all Return IF waveforms at thedownconverters, and switching/transporting the IF waveforms between the downconvertersand the Return signal processing equipment (demods, etc.) in digitized form only?5.What are the further challenges and risks of employing digitized Forward IFwaveforms (in addition to digitized Return IF waveforms) when switching/transporting theForward IF waveforms between the Forward signal processing equipment and theupconverters?Acronym ListSGSS SN Ground Segment SustainmentRF Radio FrequencyHPA High Power AmplifierSTGT Second TDRS Ground TerminalWSGT White Sands Ground TerminalIF Intermediate Frequency
