Description
The US Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Pine Bluff Contracting Division intends to issue a solicitation for the procurement of Fins to be used on various 120mm Mortar Cartridges. The Governments plan is to compete full and open. This requirement shall include the manufacturer of approximately 90,000 (base-quantity) 120mm fins made from 2024 Aluminum alloy. The contract will also include a 100% priced, evaluated options for 120mm Fins. The contractor shall fabricate, test, inspect and pack these fins accordance with the Government Technical Data Package (TDP). Potential offerors are required to request, sign and return a Confidential Non-Disclosure Statement and Non-Use Agreement prior to the receipt of the TDP. The Army will evaluate proposals received based on Best-Value criteria. If interested, send requests to the attention of Pamela Burton, pam.burton@us.army.mil 870-540-4074. Potential sources sought for the manufacture of Fins for 120mm Mortar Ammunition. These Fins are made from 2024 Aluminum alloy, and are approximately 10 long and 4 in diameter. The Fins are typically made in two pieces one piece is normally a hollow 8 bladed extrusion, and the other piece is a machined and drilled piece of tubing or bar stock. These two pieces are then press fitted together to form the Fin. These Fins are manufactured to stringent dimensional, quality assurance and performance requirements. Delivery requirements of 15,000 Fins per month starting in July 2010 will necessitate the use of high volume production equipment. A 100% Hydrostatic Test at 600 Atmospheres is required, so equipment to perform this type of testing is also required. Respondents must have the available skills, equipment, personnel and facilities to perform the necessary manufacturing and testing operations. Government owned equipment is not available. The respondee must demonstrate that they have the capability to satisfy the above requirements. This announcement is for informational planning purposes only, and is not a RFP.
