- This Sources Sought Notice is for Market Research purposes only and is not a Request for Proposal. The Government will not pay for any information provided in response to this RFI. Responses will be at no cost to the Government. Summary: Air Education and Training Command (AETC) is looking for capable vendors that have the capability to supply Matching Fiber Receivers and Transmitters. The equipment needed is as follows: MICROWAVE PHOTODIODE RECEIVER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Single mode fiber receiver suited for use in analog fiber-optic communications. Require a wide bandwidth and flat response, to be used in a wide array of applications, including antenna remoting, timing, reference signal distribution, and measurement. The photodiode module will contain the photodiode chip, optical fiber pigtail, and impedance-matched electrical connections in a hermetically sealed unit. The photodiode receiver is packaged as a flange-mount unit for extreme environments. Performance Wavelength 1290 - 1580 nm Optical Input Power Standard 2 mW High Power 15 mW Total Operating Current 100 mA Frequency Range 10 - 20000 MHz Electrical/Optical Characteristics dc Responsivity at 1310 nm, 25°C >0.70 A/W at 1550 nm, 25°C >0.80 A/W RF Receiver Efficiency (typ) at 1 GHz at 1310 nm >0.35 at 1550 nm >0.40 Optical Return Loss >45 dB Optical Input Power 15 mW RF Characteristics Maximum Frequency - 15 GHz Minimum Frequency - 0.5 GHz Output Coupling AC Output VSWR 2.0:1 - 0.5 - 15 GHz DC (Photodiode Module) Parameter Symbol Min Typical Max Unit Photodiode Bios IDC 12 mA Forward Voltage VF 10 V Miscellaneous Requirements Single-mode Flange mount - 6"W X 5"L X 1.5"H FC/APC Connector Front Panel Power On LED Must have FC/APC connector Flange mount Rx, high pwr.5 to 15 GHx (FC/APC Opt Conn). Transmitter Minimum Requirements: Please contact SSgt Van Horn at thomas.vanhorn@tyndall.af.mil for complete specs being requested under this RFI for the Transmitters only. MICROWAVE DISTRIBUTED FEEDBACK LASER TRANSMITTER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Single mode microwave distributed feedback (DFB) laser transmitter for uses including antenna remoting, reference signal distribution and telemetry. Basic laser module must be packaged as a flange-mount for extreme environments. Electronics within the transmitters control the laser temperature and dc bias current and provide warnings whenever the temperature or power deviates from their intended levels, thus providing a self regulating, fully integrated microwave product. Electrical/Optical Characteristic RF Characteristic Miscellaneous Requirements Single mode Flange mount - 6"W X 5"L X 1.5"H FC/APC Connector Front Panel Power On LED Laser Power Stable LED Laser Temperature Stable LED Must have FC/APC connector Flange Mount 0.1 to 5.0GHz DFB TX (FC/APC bulkhead Opt Conn) The North American Industry System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 334513 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Once Market Research has been completed, a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) may be placed on the Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It will be the responsibility of prospective offerors to check this site regularly for any postings or changes. Prospective offerors must be registered in Central Contracting Registration (CCR) and must be qualified to perform services in the correct NAICS code as aforementioned. Registration may be accomplished at http://www.ccr.gov. All responsible businesses, including small businesses, are encouraged to respond to this RFI. Please provide answers for each of the following, utilizing the numbering scheme for each response and limiting your total response for this RFI to no more than ten (10) pages: 1. All interested parties are invited to provide the following information: A. Company Name and CAGE code. B. Mailing Address. C. Point of Contact (to include phone/fax and e-mail). D. Web site, if applicable. E. State if your company is registered under NAICS code 334513 or not. F. State whether your firm is large, small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned small, HUB-Zone, veteran owned, service-disabled veteran owned, or 8(a) certified business concern for NAICS 334513. 2. Provide a description of your company's ability to provide the products listed above. 3. Identify your company's delivery timeline for equipment (i.e. 30 days after receipt of order). 4. Describe what is included in your company's warranty and the process to activate a warranted item. Any question(s) MUST be directed to thomas.vanhorn@tyndall.af.mil and CC only to angela.maher@tyndall.af.mil E-mail is the acceptable means for submittal, questions or inquiries.
