Description
The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions & Lethality Contracting Center, on behalf ofthe U.S. Army ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a Sniper Quick Fire Sight (SQFS). The device will be mounted or attached to the 30-mm day optic scopes and Mil-Std-1913 rail that are being used on the following weapons: M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS), M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS), and MK13. The device shall be a reflex (non-magnifying) sight, contains 4 MOA red dot reticle with manually adjustable brightness, an elevation and azimuth adjustment, and on/off switch. The SQFS shall be rugged and maintain zero retention. The device must survive in operational military environments in accordance with MIL-STD-810. The sight must be a Non Developmental Item (NDI) or a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item. Primary interest is in a sight designed for use with no modification to the weapons configuration including the day optic scopes. However, information for products that require minimal modification may also be provided. The SQFS shall be accurate at target range from 0-50 meters. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and rough indication of pricing. Any pricing data should be sent, if available and at no cost to the U.S. Government. NO LATER THAN 29 JUNE 2009: Interested companies are requested to submit a capabilities statement of 2-5 pages via e-mail within 30 days of this notice. Interested firms should also provide their address, point-of-contact with telephone number, e-mail address, and type of business (Small Business, Large Business, 8a Small Business, Hubzone Small Business, Service Disabled Veteran Small Business). This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a request for a proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited.
