Description
THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUSLY ISSUED SYNOPSIS The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in support of the ProgramExecutive Office, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, andIntelligence, Submarine Integration Office (PMW 770) intends to issue asolicitation for the competitive procurement of redesigned AN/BRR-6/6B TowCable Assemblies to support the Ship, Submersible, Ballistic, Nuclear (SSBN)class submarine Fleet in achieving its mission. The primary function of theAN/BRR-6/6B system is communications reception for the strategic deterrentmission. SPAWAR intends to procure a firm quantity of 28 AN/BRR-6/6B TowCable Assemblies with 28 shipping crates in Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 under thisproposed contract action. The contract will also contain one option forprocurement of 50 AN/BRR-6/6B Tow Cable Assemblies and another option for50 shipping crates. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP)contract for the tow cables and shipping crates. A Request for Proposal (RFP)isanticipated to be issued in June 2009, with an anticipated award in September2009. The Government requires delivery of an initial quantity of 8 redesigned AN/BRR-6/6B Tow Cable Assemblies with shipping crates no later than 7 months aftercontract award, 10 AN/BRR-6/6B Tow Cable Assemblies with shipping crates nolater than 8 months after contract award and 10 AN/BRR-6/6B Tow CableAssemblies with shipping crates delivered no later than 9 months after contractaward. A draft Technical Requirements Document and other draft solicitationdocuments will be provided for industry review on a separate secured sitelimited to US Department of Defense (DoD) contactors. To request access tothe secured website, each company must sign and return the Non-DisclosureAgreement (NDA) posted on the SPAWAR e-commerce site entitled, "Bidder'sRepository NDA" and provide the e-mail address and phone number for up totwo users to Larry Fabin at larry.fabin@navy.mil. Each user is required to beaU.S. DoD contractor and have a valid DoD Common Access Card (CAC) or ECAissued PKI certificate to gain access to the website. If an interested companyis a U.S. DoD contractor and does not have a valid DoD or ECA-issued PKIcertificate, contact Ellen Barletto at ellen.barletto.ctr@navy.mil for furtherinstruction. Once status as a U.S. DoD contractor has been confirmed, theGovernment will provide instructions on how to access the secured site. The NAICS code for this procurement is 332995.
