Description
INDUSTRY DAY Project Manager (PM), Command Posts (CP) Industry Day for the Common Hardware Systems-4 (CHS-4) Acquisition PM CP will host an Industry Day on 12 June 2009 at 9:30 am Eastern Standard Time (EST) to provide industry with insight into CHS-4 requirements. Briefings will provide information regarding program schedule, status, and requirements. The CHS-4 is a set of integrated Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) mission equipment which will improve interoperability and connectivity on the battlefield by providing state-of-the-art common hardware components and associated peripherals to meet developmental and fielding needs under the CHS program. Hardware will be available in four versions: V1non-ruggedized, V1+some ruggedization, V2ruggedized and V3near military specification (MIL SPEC). In addition, the CHS program provides worldwide repair, maintenance and logistics support through regional support centers (RSCs). The CHS program is instrumental in digitizing the battlefield. The overall goal is to improve interoperability and lower life cycle costs (LCCs) by standardizing battlefield command and control (C2) automation through centralized acquisition. This project provides a coherent migration strategy for Army systems through the use of technology insertion. PM CP Industry Day briefings have been scheduled for 12 June 2009, at 10:00 am EST. Sign-in registration begins at 9:30 am EST. Location will be the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel, Eatontown, NJ (directions and map provided below). The Government will provide multiple question boxes in which those in attendance may submit questions regarding the CHS-4 acquisition. The Government will post all answers and questions received from the question box anonymously on the IBOP website.
