Description
RECOVERY: THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. A WORK ASSIGNMENT IS BEING AWARDED UNDER THE REMEDIAL ACTION CONTRACT 2 (RAC2), CONTRACT NUMBER EP-W-06-006. In compliance with the transparency and accountability associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Re-investment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Pub, L. 111-5, the Government posts this special notice of intent to issue a Work Assignment under an established, competitively awarded, Cost Plus Fixed-Fee (EP-W-06-006), Work Assignment #014-RARA-087T. The purpose of this Work Assignment is to obligate $3,500,000.00 for the continuation of the fund-lead Remedial Action (RA) activities for support of the Gilt Edge Mine Superfund Site. The Work Assignment will be funded using funding for continuing remedial action work from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The work to be performed is limited to reducing the infiltration of run-off water through permeable areas within the diversion ditches surrounding the Ruby Repository. The contractor shall furnish all necessary and appropriate subcontract construction support to complete the grouting and lining of the diversion ditches around the Ruby Repository in order to reduce infiltration of clean water into the repository and reduce subsequent water treatment costs. The period of performance for this is from 05/26/2009 to 09/27/2010. Although the Agency's RAC2 contracts were not awarded as FP contracts, they were awarded competitively, and each contract structure was selected to provide the contractor with the greatest incentive for efficient and economical performance, given the types of services to be performed.
