- Description
- Design and construction of approximately 45,000 square meters of parking and taxiway, with approximately 20,000 square meters surfaced. The Project is sited at Dwyer II, Afghanistan, adjacent to the southern runway at Dwyer II. The facility will have lighting, markings and tie-downs, and antiterrorism measures. The project requires approximately 65,000 square meters of fill/base course material. Supporting facilities needed for this project include lighting vault, electric service, storm drainage, site improvements and / or demolition, and other ancillary antiterrorism measures. It is noted that topographic and geotechnical information is not currently available for this project. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining topographic and geotechnical information for the site, evaluating the assumptions made in the contract documents based on actual site conditions, adjusting as necessary the design of the facilities. The facilities shall be designed and constructed in accordance with current U.S. Design Standards, safety, security, ecological standards, applicable local standards and other criteria as defined in the Technical Requirements specification. The magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00 USD. The expected contract duration is four hundred twenty (420) calendar days. Plans and Specifications: The solicitation will be available for download via the internet. The solicitation will not be provided to subcontractors, suppliers, or vendors. Contracting Procedures: The solicitation will be a request for proposal (RFP). Source selection will be made using the best value trade-off process. Both non-pricing (technical) and price proposals are required. The evaluation factors with their significance and weight will be provided in the RFP. The Government may include options in the solicitation. The contract will be awarded on a firm-fixed price basis. Acquisition Time Line: Tentative date for issuance of Request for Proposal (RFP) number W912ER-09-R-0057 is 12 June 2009. Tentative date for receipt of proposals is 13 July 2009. A pre proposal site walk is tentatively scheduled for 25 Jun 2009. Tentative date to award the contract is 15 August 2009.
