Description
This is a Pre-Solicitation notice (synopsis) for a full and open competitive procurement. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement to provide Technical Support of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Communication Systems. The objective of this prospective contract is to assist the FHWA in a number of different areas as determined by ongoing efforts in various program areas relating to communications and radio-navigation. Performance under this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) task order contract may encompass, but not necessarily be limited to, the following activities: 1.Developing a full understanding of the performance of a broad range of communications technologies to support surface transportation, 2.Analyzing and supporting the development and testing of communication and protocol related standards, 3.Implementing specific communication technologies and evaluating them for surface transportation application that they had not been designed to support, 4.Installation and support for infrastructure based ITS related communication systems to support analysis and testing various ITS related activities such as Intersection Collision Avoidance, Roadway Departure Warning, and Road Data (map) updates, and 5.Supporting deployment of varied Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) related technologies needing infrastructure support. The Government will not accept telephoned, e-mailed, letter-written, or faxed requests for the solicitation (RFP) for this procurement. The RFP will be released and available electronically only at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties may register at the aforementioned site to receive a variety of procurement announcements/notifications. It is the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any amendments to the RFP package. The Government reserves the right to award multiple contracts based on this solicitation. NO OTHER PROCUREMENT INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
