- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to solicit on a brand name/sole source (other than full and open competition) basis for new robotic arm systems in support of Systems Engineering Department, United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. Specifically, 15 each, p/n: 000413, SCORBOT-ER (brand name) 4u robotic packages (with gripper) and 15 each, p/n: 001709, Teach Pendant for ER 4u will be solicited under Request for Quotation N00189-09-Q-1837 which contemplates a Firm Fixed Price type purchase order contract with delivery on an FOB Destination basis no later than 30 days months ARO. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a proposal is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The procurement is being processed through other than full and open competition pursuant to the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 and in accordance with FAR Subpa! rt 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, and in conjunction with FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Intelitek, Inc. of Manchester, NH, the original equipment manufacturer. Because of the need of the new system to be interchangeable/ compatible with the existing system, Intelitek, Inc is the only source with the capability of satisfying the Government's requirements. Because Intelitek, Inc. does not deal directly with the Government, Ronald A. Williams Ltd. is the only authorized supplier of these (brand name) SCORBOT-ER 4u systems for the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC areas. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within fifteen (15) days! after the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement action based on the responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. The NAICS code is 334519 and the business size standard is 500 employees.
