Description
BID OPENING HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JUNE 9, 2009 @ 11:00 P.M. 1)Understanding that the lowest bid will be likely accepted/approved, I noticed that the Statement of Work requests overhead patient lifts. Theres no statement made to permanently mounted patient ceiling lifts. Is it accepted to sell a less expensive wall mount if bracing is installed per #15 of the Contractor/Vendor Responsibilities? No all ceiling lifts will be permanently mounted and hard wired. 2)#6 -of the Statement of Work indicates at installation of associated equipment will not exceed 24 hours. Could you please explain? The equipment must be installed in a very timely manner. Although we are asking for a 24 hour turn around the V.A. is flexible on the installation times, if a schedule can be worked out and the time required to install the units is defined. 3)#13- indicates that along with the electric shop, the electric load test will be monitored/conducted by the FC or a 3rd party. Can you tell me what FC stands for and if a 3rd party is used, who will incur that cost? The load test will be conducted by the contracted vendor, with the supervision of the V.A. The contracted vendor will provide a licensed electrician. 4)#15- Could you explain the term full room covering? I was given to understand that we had to stay inside the current tracks. In a 10 X 12 room do you want complete coverage of the room or coverage inside the curtain tracks only which could be 8 x 12? The lifts should prove coverage specified in the contract, if the system being provide by the contracted vendor exceeds the coverage, it will be excepted if costs do not exceed budget. In # 3 of Government Property and Services item c states Electrical needs are required prior to install. Will the VA be providing the power outlets for the company awarded the bid? The VA will not provide and power outlets. If an existing outlet is available the contractor may use it if the VA agrees. In #4 General Information item b states the hours the awarded company is to workis this correct, we only work on Fri, Sat, Mon, Tues. from 8 to 1800? Also out-patient from 1700-700 hours any day of the week? The contractor will need to be able to work night and weekends. The VA would like to work Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but we will need to accommodate our veterans and this may require different hours.
